7.2.1 Installing software
Note!
The corresponding RAID system has to be set in t he BIOS before the Windows
XP installation.
1. Switch on the IPC and call the BIOS settings.
2. Carry out the following settings in the BIOS:
–Advanced->IDEConfiguration->ConfigureS-ATA#1asRAID
– Boot -> Boot Device Priority -> 1st Boot Device [”actual CD-rom drive”]
– Exit -> Save Changes and Exit
During the boot-up process, the following message appears for 1/2 seconds: ””Intel(R)
RAID for Serial ATA - Raid Configuration Utility”
3. Press [Ctrl] + [I]
4. Check whether the SATA disks are detected and select ”1 Create RAID Volume”.
5. Enter the name of the RAID installation and press [Enter].
6. Select the desired RAID level.
7. For ”RAID0”: activate ”Strip Size”, then ”Create Volume”.
8. To close, select ”Exit”.
The system returns to the BIOS menu.
9. Select Exit - > ”Save Changes and Exit”.
10. Insert LDC-Windows-XP-DVD and follow the instructions of the Windows
installation.
11. Afterwards install the ”Intel Matrix Storage Console” from the LDC tool and driver
CD.
