5.3 Connecting and disconnecting the battery pack of the optional UPS
For the UPS functionality the battery pack has to be attached before commissioning the
IPC.
If the IPC is disconnected from the mains for a longer time (e. g. transport, storage), the
battery pack has to be disconnected, as otherwise the rechargeable batteriesof the battery
pack may be damaged by an exhaustive discharge.

How to connect or disconnect the battery pack:
1. Open the housing:
Loosen the six screws .
Lift the housing cover upwards.
2. Connect/disconnect the plug (white plug with a red and black cable) to/from the
connector of the power supply unit .
After removing the plug: Make sure that its contacts do not get in touch with other
electrical or electroconductive parts. Otherwise the device or parts of it may be
destroyed. We recommend to fix the plug with a cable tie.
3. Close the housing:
Carefully place the housing cover on the housing.
Tighten the six screws .
