Brakes
The motors can be ordered with a spring-applied brake to allow stopping or deceleraon of
the moving masses. The spring-applied brake operates according to the closed-circuit
principle. In the deenergized state, the brake is closed, prevenng possible movement of the
motor sha or the load aer switching o or in the event of a power failure.
CAUTION!
The brake may not be used as a safety element (parcularly with hoist axes) without
addional measures being implemented.
The brakes used are not fail-safe brakes in the sense that prospecve disrupve factors, e.g.
oil ingress, can lead to a reducon in torque! The fricon surfaces must always be free from oil
and grease because even small amounts of grease or oil will considerably reduce the braking
torque.
Manual release lever
To make posioning and maintenance work easier, the holding and applicaon brake can be
ordered with a manual release lever. By using the manual release lever, the brake can be
released manually in deenergized operang state.
A lockable manual release lever can be ordered as an opon. This is equipped with a clamping
device to hold the brake in the released posion.
