A significant voltage drop indicates undersized or corroded cables, poor connections, or resistance in the battery isolation switch or solenoid. Finally, verify that the voltage is correct; if it is, the motor may be defective and require replacement.

If there's no voltage, the switch or its wiring is likely defective. If voltage is present, keep the switch activated and check for voltage at the main output terminal on the contactor. If there's no voltage, inspect the contactor coil ground circuit; if it's okay, replace the contactor. Finally, check the voltage at the motor. If voltage is present but the motor doesn't run, the motor is defective.
