9.5 Heater and hot water
9.5.1 Malfunctions, TRUMA heater
Fault Cause Remedy
Heating will not switch on Window open Close the window
Extremely long heating time The water tank is clogged with
limescale
Descale the water system
Water drains away - water tank
cannot be filled
Safety/drain valve is open Close safety/drain valve
The water tank cannot be
drained, even though the
safety/drain valve is open
The drainage outlet of the
safety/drain valve is closed
Check the opening for dirt (slush,
ice, leaves, etc.) and remove if
necessary
Water pipe frozen Thaw the water pipe
Water is dripping/flowing out of
the drainage outlet of the
safety/drain valve
Water pressure too high Check pump pressure
(max. 2.8 bar)
When connected to a central
water supply (rural or city
connection), a pressure reducer
must be used to prevent
pressures greater than 2.8 bar in
the water tank
After switching off of the heating,
the FrostControl opens
At temperatures less than about
3 °C, the FrostControl opens
automatically
Switch on the heating. Without
heating, the FrostControl can only
be closed again at temperatures
greater than about 7 °C
Use a heating element for
FrostControl
