The Mantis Tiller engine might fail to start due to several reasons: - The O/I switch is in the “O” position. To fix this, move the switch to “I.” - There is no fuel in the tank. In this case, fill the tank. - The fuel strainer is clogged, so replace the strainer. - The fuel line is clogged, so clean the fuel line. - The spark plug is shorted or fouled, so install a new spark plug. - The spark plug is broken (cracked porcelain or electrodes broken), so replace the spark plug. - The ignition lead wire is shorted, broken, or disconnected from the spark plug, so replace the lead wire or attach it to the spark plug. - The ignition is inoperative, in that case you should contact your local authorized dealer.
