Overview

The Revolt Rechargeable Master Gardener is a versatile sprayer designed for agricultural pesticides, herbicides, and other non-flammable liquids. It is manufactured by Master Manufacturing and is intended for dependable and efficient use in a wide range of spraying applications.

Key Features and Specifications:

  • Rechargeable Battery System: The sprayer is powered by a Revolt Battery Pack (33-100512) and includes a Battery Charger (33-100513). The battery pack requires approximately four hours to fully charge prior to initial use. The power switch on the sprayer handle illuminates when the unit is on, indicating a charged battery.
  • Tank Capacity: The sprayer features a 9-gallon tank (33-103197) for holding liquids.
  • Pump: It is equipped with an Everflo 1.0 GPM Pump (EF1000).
  • Spray Gun Lance: The unit comes with a Spray Gun Lance (SG-4200-MG) for spot spraying. The spray gun nozzle can be adjusted from a straight stream to a wide pattern mist.
  • Broadcast Spraying Capability: The sprayer can be converted for broadcast spraying by turning a back panel valve switch from Off to On. This allows for wider coverage, ideal for larger areas.
  • Mobility: The sprayer is designed with a Sprayer Base Assembly (including 12" Wheels, TWA12x1.75-1/2) and a Sprayer Handle (33-100158) for easy maneuverability. It also includes a Trailer Tongue (33-100158), Hitch Pin (33-100156), and Cotter Pin for attachment to a vehicle, enabling towing for larger tasks.
  • Durable Construction: Components like the tank lid (TL-6B) with an O-ring (TL-6B-GAS) and tank lid strainer (TLS-5D) ensure secure containment and filtration. Braided hoses (33-103938) and worm gear hose clamps (350-004) contribute to a robust fluid delivery system.
  • User-Friendly Assembly: The manual provides clear, step-by-step instructions for assembly, requiring only a Phillips screwdriver. Key steps include charging the battery, attaching the sprayer handle with adjustment knobs and bolts (33-100157), connecting wiring harness connectors, threading the spray gun nozzle, inserting the battery pack, and attaching the trailer tongue.

Usage Features:

  • Preparing the Sprayer: Before each use, it is crucial to review safety information, inspect the sprayer for cracks or leaks, ensure the drain cap is tightened, and flush the tank of any residual chemicals.
  • Filling the Tank: Remove the tank lid, add the chemical/water mixture according to label instructions, thoroughly mix, and securely re-thread the lid.
  • Spot Spraying: To spot spray, pull the gun trigger, pointing the nozzle towards the target vegetation. The adjustable nozzle allows for different spray patterns. Chemical-resistant gloves are recommended when adjusting the nozzle due to potential drips.
  • Broadcast Spraying: Open the broadcast valve switch to allow flow to the boom nozzle. Ensure the boom nozzle is pointed straight down; if not, loosen the retaining nut and adjust. Chemical-resistant gloves are advised when adjusting the broadcast nozzle.
  • Safety Precautions: Always wear protective equipment as directed by chemical labels. Avoid spraying in windy conditions (above 4 MPH) to minimize drift. Keep the work area clear of people and pets. Do not use corrosive or flammable chemicals, as this voids the warranty and poses significant hazards. Never point the spray gun at people or animals.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning After Use: Immediately after use, clean the sprayer and decontaminate yourself. Drain any excess pesticide into a suitable container, wearing protective gear. Properly store or dispose of unused chemicals. Flush the sprayer with fresh water according to chemical manufacturer recommendations.
  • Personal Decontamination: Remove clothing, wash exposed body parts with soap and water, and launder clothing separately.
  • Winterization (Storage): To prevent damage from freezing and voiding the warranty, prepare the sprayer for end-of-season storage by running RV anti-freeze through the system. Pour one gallon of RV anti-freeze into the tank, turn on the pump, and squeeze the gun trigger until fluid sprays out.
  • Removing from Storage: Drain the RV anti-freeze from the tank. Flush the system with fresh water, operating the spray gun and boom until completely flushed. Properly dispose of the RV anti-freeze and flush water.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting table to address common issues such as the pump not priming or turning on, low pressure, leaks, poor spray distribution, pump cycling, battery pack not charging, and rough operation. Solutions range from checking connections and voltage to replacing parts like fuses, spray guns, nozzles, or the pump itself.

Safety Warnings:

  • The manual emphasizes reading and understanding all instructions to prevent electric shock, fire, or serious personal injury.
  • Only charge the Revolt Battery Pack with Revolt Series Chargers.
  • Avoid charging in dangerous environments (rain, snow, damp, wet, explosive atmospheres).
  • Charge in a well-ventilated area, away from smoking or open flames.
  • Do not burn, incinerate, crush, drop, damage, or disassemble battery packs.
  • Battery chemicals can cause serious burns; use gloves for handling damaged packs and seek medical attention if exposed.
  • Prevent short circuits by keeping metal objects away from battery pack contacts.
  • Dispose of Lithium-Ion Batteries according to federal, state, and local regulations, covering terminals with electrical tape to prevent shorting.
  • The sprayer is not certified for use in dispensing potable water or other consumable liquids.
  • Failure to follow warnings regarding chemical handling, over-application, and unattended operation can result in property damage, injury, or death.
  • Chemical spills, leaks, contamination, and poisoning require immediate response, following first aid instructions on chemical labels and contacting poison control.
