Why doesn’t my Masterbuilt Grill fire on smoke setting?
    • J
      Jonathan NelsonAug 5, 2025
If your Masterbuilt Grill doesn't fire on the smoke setting, it might be because the “P” setting on the digital controller is set too high; review the Digital Controller Functions in the Operating Instructions section to adjust it. Make sure the power switch is OFF and the power cord is disconnected. Open the lid and remove the cooking grate, grease deflector, and heat diffuser. Remove all unburned pellets and ash from the crucible, using a shop-vac if needed, ensuring the grill is cold to prevent fire hazards. Put the heat diffuser, grease deflector, and cooking grate back in place and follow the INITIAL LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS.

      Dustin ObrienOct 27, 2025
To address a Masterbuilt Grill that won't ignite, start by turning the power switch to OFF and disconnecting the power cord. Remove any food, cooking grate, grease deflector, and heat diffuser. Clear all unburned pellets and ash from the crucible, ensuring the grill is COLD to prevent fire hazards. Restart the grill to check if the ignition cycle works. Verify power at the outlet and reset the ground fault interrupter if needed. Inspect the power cord fuses by disconnecting the cord, removing the controller, and checking the fuse on the back, replacing it if blown. Finally, verify the element, intake fan, and auger drive are functioning by unplugging the element connector (red/white wires), plugging the power cord into a grounded outlet, and turning the power switch to ON. Check that the i...

What to do if no pellets are delivered to the crucible in my Masterbuilt MWG 600B?
    • B
      Brenda RodriguezNov 12, 2025
If no pellets are being delivered to the crucible of your Masterbuilt Grill, first check that there are pellets in the pellet hopper. Remember that it can take up to seven minutes for pellets to travel from the pellet hopper to the crucible. If the issue persists, ensure the power switch is OFF and the power cord is disconnected. Remove the controller and the pellet hopper to access the auger drive motor and intake fan connections. Unplug the auger drive motor (orange/white wire pair) and the intake fan (purple/white wire pair), then reconnect both. If the auger drive motor is working, the digital controller may need to be replaced. If the auger drive motor is not working, but the intake fan is working, the problem is the auger system which may need to be checked. Locate the small fan blad...

How to fix a Masterbuilt MWG 600B when foreign objects or wet pellets jam the auger system?

If foreign objects or wet pellets are jamming the auger system of your Masterbuilt Grill, you need to remove the pellet hopper to access the auger drive motor. Remove the bolt and nut connecting the auger drive motor shaft to the auger shaft and the screw holding the auger retainer to the auger tube. Use a small pipe wrench or locking pliers on the auger shaft to turn the auger counterclockwise until it breaks free. Remove the auger and clean all pellets, ash, or foreign objects from the auger, auger tube, and crucible. Sand the outside surfaces of the auger with medium grit sandpaper and the inside of the auger tube if necessary. Vacuum any sanding grit out of the auger tube and crucible. Reinstall the auger bushing and the auger into the auger tube, ensuring the auger rotates freely. Fin...
