Chapter 4, Configuring Your Multi System
$ External (REF IN) Genlock to an external analog genlock source that is
connected to Multi’s REF IN connector, such as a bi-level analog black
burst for SD or a tri-level sync for HD, or a VTR that has a built-in TBC.
$ Input 1 and 2 (Multi-I/O only) Genlock to the source connected to the
SDI input.
¡ Important To ensure good output results, make sure that your genlock
source’s video format is compatible with the Multi video output format.
5 Use the settings under Video Output Timing Offset to adjust the
horizontal timing of the video output relative to your genlock source for each
Multi SDI output. This lets you compensate for cable delays within your
system.
Specifying your analog audio output settings
¦NoteAnalog audio output settings do not apply to Matrox Multi-Ingest cards.
The Matrox Multi analog audio outputs (OUT 1 to 4) let you monitor any audio
pair from any Multi SDI output. You can choose to use your Multi card’s default
audio mapping settings, or customize the settings to suit your needs.
The Multi-I/O and Multi-Playback analog audio outputs are always genlocked to
the genlock source selected on the
Genlock pane (see “Specifying your genlock
settings” on page 19).
¦NoteTo mute a Multi analog audio output pair, select Enable audio mapping
on the
Analog Audio Ouput pane, and then select Mute for the corresponding
audio pair.
1 From the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click the
Matrox Multi icon.
2 If you have more than one Multi card installed in your system, select the card
that you want to configure from the
Matrox Multi card list (see “Matrox
Multi card selection and settings on page 18).
