What to do if my Maytag AGR4400ADW Ranges burner won't ignite?
    • S
      sarah42Aug 12, 2025
If the burner on your Maytag range won't ignite and there's no spark when you turn the knob to 'LITE', first, check that the range is getting 120 VAC from the wall outlet. Then, inspect the micro switch contacts. Also, examine the wiring for any faults or loose connections at the burner electrode and electrode socket, referring to the wiring diagram. Make sure all connections are tight. Check the spark module using the appropriate testing procedures. Clean the electrode or burner cap if they're dirty. Finally, if the electrode, electrode wire, or socket is cracked or broken, replace the electrode.

How to fix Maytag Ranges burners that will not ignite?
    • C
      Crystal VegaAug 19, 2025
If your Maytag range burners won't ignite and there's no spark, start by cleaning the burner cap. If that doesn't work, the spark module might be weak or has failed, so consider replacing it. Also, check the gas pressure: it should be 4” WCP for natural gas and 10” WCP for LP gas. Lastly, a clogged burner port could be the culprit, so try cleaning the burner cap again.

Why does my Maytag Ranges keep sparking after turning it off?
    • K
      kellerjenniferAug 27, 2025
If your Maytag range continues to spark after the knob is in the OFF position, the valve switch/harness may be shorted. Replace the switch/harness. If excessive spillovers caused the shorting, consider educating the customer. Another possibility is that the switch has slipped off the valve. Carefully reposition the switch on the valve and rotate it from OFF to high several times to make sure the switch isn't broken.

How to troubleshoot no spark at ignitor on Maytag AGR4400ADW?
    • B
      bonnieallenSep 4, 2025
If your Maytag range has no spark or only a random spark at one ignitor, replace the ignitor lead or electrode if you find a cracked ignitor or pinched ignitor wire. Clean the burner cap and lead to ensure good continuity to the burner cap. Tighten the ground connection and fix any breaks in the ground path from the ignitor to the unit ground. Also, replace the ignitor lead if you find it is cracked or broken.
