What to do if my Maytag Range oven door will not unlock after self-clean cycle?
    • A
      Andres FrancisSep 12, 2025
If the oven door will not unlock after the self-clean cycle, it may be because the oven interior is still hot. Allow about one hour for the oven to cool after the completion of a self-clean cycle. The door can be opened when the LOCK indicator word is not displayed. Also, the control and door may be locked.

What to do if my Maytag Range Ranges food is not broiling properly?
    • L
      Lauren MurphyAug 21, 2025
If your food is not broiling properly or smokes excessively, consider the following: * Check oven rack positions, ensuring food isn't too close to the element. * Preheat the broil element. * Avoid using aluminum foil incorrectly; never line the broiler insert with foil. * Leave the oven door open to the first stop position (about 4 inches) during broiling. * Trim excess fat from meat before broiling. * Ensure a clean broiler pan is used. * Check for low voltage in your house.

Why is there a strong odor when I turn on my Maytag Range oven?
    • A
      Allison MarshAug 23, 2025
A strong odor or light smoke when the oven is turned on is normal for a new range and will disappear after a few uses. You can speed up the process by initiating a clean cycle or turning on a ventilation fan. If there are excessive food soils on the oven bottom, use a self-clean cycle.

    • C
      Cody BestAug 26, 2025
If your oven will not self-clean, check the following: * Ensure the cycle is not set for a delayed start. * Verify the door is closed. * Make sure the control is not in Sabbath Mode. * Ensure the oven temperature is below 400° F, as the oven temperature must be below 400° F to program a clean cycle.

What to do if my Maytag Ranges part or all of appliance does not work?
    • C
      Chelsea FryeAug 27, 2025
If part or all of your appliance does not work, check if the surface and/or oven controls have been properly set. Also, check if the oven door is unlocked after a self-clean cycle. Ensure the oven isn't set for a delayed cook or clean program, the Control Lock isn't activated, and the control isn't in Sabbath Mode.

What to do if my Maytag Ranges baking results are not as expected?
    • M
      Marvin MartinAug 30, 2025
If your baking results are not as expected, make sure the oven vent has not been blocked and check to ensure the range is level. Note that temperatures often vary between a new oven and an old one; as ovens age, the oven temperature often 'drifts' and may become hotter or cooler.

    • D
      Daniel SloanSep 1, 2025

What to do if my Maytag Range Ranges oven did not clean properly?
    • A
      Arthur BennettSep 3, 2025
If your oven did not clean properly, a longer cleaning time may be needed. Also, excessive spillovers, especially sugary and/or acidic foods, should be removed prior to the self-clean cycle.

Why is there moisture collecting on my Maytag Range Ranges oven window?
    • L
      leeteresaSep 5, 2025
Moisture collecting on the oven window or steam coming from the oven vent is normal when cooking foods high in moisture. It can also occur if excessive moisture was used when cleaning the window.

How to troubleshoot fault codes on Maytag Ranges?
    • J
      jessica79Sep 7, 2025
If BAKE or LOCK flash rapidly in the display, press the CANCEL pad. If they continue to flash, disconnect power, wait a few minutes, and reconnect. If flashing persists, disconnect power and call an authorized servicer. If excessive flareups during cleaning result in a fault code, press CANCEL, allow the oven to cool, wipe out excess soil, and reset the clean cycle. If the fault code reappears, contact an authorized servicer.
