arrangement
leaves the front
panel controls
free to correct
overall tone
balance
in the
prograrn,
correcting
for
recording or
playback
en-
vironrnent.
There
is afurther
feature
to the
lowfrequencytrim
controls.
If you
find that
your
loud-
speakers
produce
rnore than
adequate bass
response when
the
C-20
is
adjusted
for norrnal
playback,
you
rnay turn both
low
frequency trim
controls
fully
counterclockwise.
Then bring
the
system into
balance
by
advancing only
the trim control
corresponding
to
the loudspeaker
producing less bass
response.
If
ontheother
hand your
loudspeaker
systems
produce
less bass
resPonse thanyoudesire'
the
low frequency
trirn controls
rnay be turned
fully clockwise.
The
systern is thenbrought
into
balance by
reducing the
bass
response
on the loudspeaker
producing the
greater
bass arn-
plitude.
Following
a sirnilar
procedure the
bass
response of
your
system may
be
adjusted
within
thelirnits of fully clockwise
to
fully counterclockwise
on
these trirn controls
and the systern
balance established
by
advancing
one control
more than
the other.
To
Adjust Phase.
Rotate
both
record
cornpensator
controls
to
RIAA.
Adjust
bass
and
treble
tone
controls
to
zero.
Stand
approxirnately
l0 feet
in front
of and
rnidway between
the
loudspeakers.
The
source
of
sound
should
appear to
be directly
in front
of your. Rotate
the
"PHASE"
control between"0"
and',180,,.
If the
source
of sound
is not directly
infront
of
you
in
rr0rr
position reverse the
leads to
one
loudspeaker.
The
phase switch
has been
arranged
to correct
phase
insource ma-
terial
wheneve
r neces
sary'
