What to do if hot water comes out of the cold tap in my MDC caravan?
    • R
      Richard WilkinsJul 29, 2025
If hot water comes out when you open the cold water tap in your MDC caravan, it could be due to hot water flowing back through the cold water supply or a faulty non-return valve. You should fit a non-return valve in the cold water supply.

Why does the red lamp light up after prolonged heater operation in my MDC caravan?
    • N
      Nicholas PatelAug 5, 2025
If the heater in your MDC caravan operates for a prolonged time and then the red lamp lights up, it indicates that the excess temperature thermostat has responded. Check the water level and refill if necessary, ensuring the drain valve is closed. To unlock the system, switch off the appliance, wait 5 minutes, and then switch it back on.

What to do if MDC caravan heater doesn't start and the red lamp lights up?
    • C
      cmanningAug 13, 2025
If the heater in your MDC caravan doesn't operate when switched on, and the red lamp lights up after about 30 seconds, several issues could be at play: the cowl cover might be fitted, there could be air in the gas supply, there might be no gas supply, or the gas pressure could be incorrect. Remove the cowl cover to eliminate any obstruction. Inspect the gas valves and gas cylinder. To unlock and purge any air, switch off the appliance, wait 5 minutes, and then switch it back on.

Why is water dripping from the P&T safety valve in my MDC caravan?
    • J
      Jordan StewartAug 20, 2025
If water drips from the P&T safety valve in your MDC caravan, it could be due to water pressure being too high or lime/dirt being under the P&T safety valve seat. Check the water pressure (it should be max. 400 kPa) and use a pressure reducer when connected to a central water supply. Allow the appliance to cool, then slowly raise the test lever to flush the water system and attempt to force any dirt or foreign matter out of the P&T safety valve seat. If the issue persists, the P&T safety valve may need replacement by a certified service technician.
