Why is my Meaco MeacoDry Arete One not collecting water?
    • S
      Sandy LeeAug 20, 2025
Your Meaco Dehumidifier might not be collecting much water because the humidity level is already very low (below 45%rh). In such conditions, there isn’t enough moisture in the environment for the dehumidifier to extract. Also, ensure that the environment temperature is between 5°C and 35°C for optimal performance.

How to improve humidity reduction with my Meaco Dehumidifier?
    • D
      Debbie RodriguezAug 25, 2025
If your Meaco Dehumidifier isn't reducing humidity sufficiently, it could be due to several factors. First, the room might be too large for the dehumidifier's capacity, this dehumidifier can effectively dry up to a 5-bedroom house. Second, ensure all windows and external doors are closed to minimize ventilation. Finally, a dirty dust filter or HEPA filter can block airflow; clean or replace them to improve dehumidifying performance.

How to reduce noise from my Meaco MeacoDry Arete One Dehumidifier?
    • J
      Joseph AdkinsAug 27, 2025
If your Meaco Dehumidifier is making excessive noise, try cleaning the dust filter and/or replacing the HEPA filter. Also, ensure the dehumidifier is placed on a flat surface; wooden floors can amplify noise compared to carpet.

    • T
      townsendbrianAug 28, 2025
If your Meaco Dehumidifier isn't dehumidifying effectively, check if the target humidity level is set higher than the actual humidity level in the room. If it is, use the smart humidity mode button to reduce the target humidity level.

Why is my Meaco MeacoDry Arete One Dehumidifier blowing out warm air?
    • P
      Phyllis BatesAug 30, 2025
It's normal for your Meaco Dehumidifier to blow out warm air. During the dehumidification process, the dried air is passed over heating coils before being released back into the room. Also, remember that the dehumidifier does not cool the air.

Why is condensation returning on my windows when using Meaco Dehumidifier?
    • N
      Nicholas McneilSep 7, 2025
If condensation has returned to your windows after they were clear, it's likely because the outside temperature has dropped, making the windows colder. To address this, use your Meaco Dehumidifier on a lower target setting and run it continuously (24 hours a day).

Overview

The MeacoDry Arete One is a dehumidifier and air purifier available in 20L and 25L capacities, designed to improve indoor air quality and humidity levels. It uses R290 refrigerant gas, which is environmentally friendly and has a low greenhouse effect, aligning with European Environmental Directives.

Function Description

The primary function of the MeacoDry Arete One is to dehumidify the air, removing excess moisture to prevent condensation, mold growth, and make spaces easier to heat. It can be used to maintain an optimum humidity level throughout an entire house or flat, or to target specific rooms with high humidity. Additionally, it features an air purification mode, which, when combined with a H13 HEPA filter, cleans the air by removing dust and other particles. This dual functionality makes it a versatile appliance for improving indoor environments.

The dehumidifier offers several operating modes to suit different needs:

  • Smart Humidity Mode: This mode defaults to a target humidity of 55%rh and a low fan speed. Once the target is reached, the dehumidifier will stop, periodically checking the humidity level and restarting if it rises above the target. Users can also set a variable humidistat to target humidity levels between 40%rh and 70%rh, or select "Continuous" (CO) mode for non-stop operation.
  • Smart Laundry Mode: Designed for drying laundry quickly and efficiently, this mode defaults to a target humidity of 35%rh and a high fan speed, running continuously for 6 hours. It will pause dehumidification if the humidity drops too low to prevent over-drying, but the fan will continue to run.
  • Air Purification Mode (AP): In this dedicated mode, the dehumidifier purifies the air without dehumidifying, which is useful during warmer months when dehumidification might not be necessary. The H13 HEPA filter, if installed, ensures continuous air purification regardless of the operating mode.
  • Night Mode: This mode reduces the fan speed to low, silences button beeps, and turns off all display lights for undisturbed operation during the night. It can be activated in both Smart Humidity and Smart Laundry modes.

The device also includes an auto-restart function, ensuring it resumes operation in its previous mode after a power interruption.

Usage Features

The MeacoDry Arete One is designed for user convenience and flexibility.

  • Placement: It can be placed as close to a wall as desired, making it suitable for various room layouts. For whole-house dehumidification, it is recommended to place the unit in a central area like a landing or hallway, keeping internal doors open and external doors and windows closed. For single-room use, it should be placed in the "problem" room with the internal door closed.
  • Laundry Drying: When drying laundry, the dehumidifier should be placed close to the laundry (but not so close that water could drip onto it) in a closed room. The Smart Laundry Mode is specifically optimized for this purpose.
  • Control Panel: The control panel features intuitive buttons for Power, Smart Humidity Mode/Air Purification, Smart Laundry Mode, and Night Mode/Child Lock. Indicators for Dehumidifying, Water Tank Full, Air Purification, and Child Lock provide clear status updates. Buttons require a short, firm press to activate.
  • Display Readings: The display shows the current humidity level. A quick press of the Smart Humidity Mode button will temporarily show the target humidity level before reverting to the current reading.
  • Water Collection: Water can be collected in the integrated water tank or drained continuously via a hose. The water tank has a handle for easy carrying and pouring holes for emptying. The collected water can be used for non-edible plants.
  • Continuous Drainage: For unattended operation, especially in garages or second homes, the continuous drainage feature allows water to drain directly through a standard garden hose (ID: 12.5mm) using a provided right-angle adaptor. It is crucial to ensure the hose runs downwards without kinks or blockages to facilitate gravity drainage.
  • Child Lock: The child lock feature prevents accidental changes to settings or turning off the dehumidifier, ensuring safe operation in households with children.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of the MeacoDry Arete One.

  • Cleaning the Exterior: The exterior should be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild cleaning agent or a slightly damp cloth can be used. Direct spraying with water should be avoided.
  • Dust Filter Cleaning: The life-long dust filter should be cleaned at least every two weeks. It can be cleaned using a hoover or soapy water (no hotter than 40°C), then rinsed and thoroughly dried before reinsertion. The dust filter is integrated into the filter case and cannot be removed separately.
  • HEPA Filter Replacement: The H13 HEPA filter is not life-long and needs to be replaced when its color changes from white to grey, typically every 3 months, depending on the environment. It can be periodically hoovered to remove dust. Replacement HEPA filters are available for purchase from eu.meaco.com.
  • Water Tank Cleaning: The water tank lid can be removed to clean the inside of the tank. It is essential not to remove the float located inside the water tank, as it is crucial for measuring water levels and triggering the dehumidifier's shut-off mechanism when the tank is full.
  • Storage: For long-term storage, the dehumidifier should be unplugged, the water tank emptied and allowed to dry completely. The cable can be tidied using the cable tidy on the back of the unit. The device should be stored in a dust-free location away from direct sunlight, ideally covered with a plastic sheet.
  • Electrical Cord Inspection: The electrical cord should be inspected regularly for any damage.

The MeacoDry Arete One is designed to be a reliable and easy-to-maintain appliance for creating a healthier and more comfortable indoor environment.
