Why is water not draining down the hose of my Meaco Dehumidifier?
    • S
      Stefanie AvilaSep 23, 2025
If water is not draining down the hose of your Meaco Dehumidifier, even though it's fitted for continuous drainage and the water still goes into the tank, negative air pressure in the room might be pulling the water back. Insert a 4mm hole into the top of the tube 30mm down from the spout to introduce air and balance the pressure.

Why is my Meaco Dehumidifier not working?
    • M
      matthewleeAug 23, 2025
The most common reasons for a Meaco dehumidifier not working are: * The power is not connected. Ensure the plug is properly inserted into the wall outlet. * The water container is full. Remove the water from the container. * The water container has not been replaced correctly. Place the water container in the correct position. * The air filter is clogged. Clean the air filter. * The temperature in the room where the dehumidifier is operating is too low. The machine does not dehumidify below 1°C. * The relative humidity in the room where the dehumidifier is operating is too low. The dehumidifier dries down to the target relative humidity set and then goes into fan-only mode until the relative humidity goes above the set point again.

Why is my Meaco DD8L Zambezi leaking water onto the floor?
    • J
      Jamie SnowAug 26, 2025
If your Meaco dehumidifier is leaking water, it usually means that the dehumidifier is not on a level surface or that the filter has not been cleaned often enough, and dirt has fallen into the dehumidifier. You can also check that the water bucket is not cracked by filling it with water and placing it on kitchen paper on the kitchen side. Clean away any dirt that is blocking the water as per section seven.

      Vincent HaasAug 27, 2025
If your Meaco Dehumidifier is leaking water onto the floor, it usually means that the unit isn't on a level surface or the filter hasn't been cleaned often enough, allowing dirt to fall inside. You can also inspect the water bucket for cracks by filling it with water and placing it on kitchen paper.

Why is my Meaco Dehumidifier not collecting water?
    • S
      Sydney RiceAug 27, 2025
If your Meaco Dehumidifier isn't reducing humidity effectively or has little water in the tank, consider these possible causes: * The house may be too large – consider a dehumidifier with greater capacity. * Too many moisture sources – consider a dehumidifier with greater capacity and a different heat source than a portable gas heater. * Excessive ventilation – reduce ventilation by closing windows and doors. * Blocked air filter – clean the air filter.

Why can't I change the fan speed on my Meaco DD8L Zambezi?
    • M
      Mark ClaySep 18, 2025
If you cannot change the fan speed on your Meaco Dehumidifier and it only works in high fan speed, Laundry Mode might be selected. Turn Laundry Mode off to regain control over the fan speed.

Why does the fan speed increase on my Meaco DD8L Zambezi Dehumidifier?
    • X
      xbaxterSep 14, 2025
If your Meaco Dehumidifier's fan speed increases on its own, especially on the Meaco 20+ model, it's not a fault. This model increases fan speed when the relative humidity is 20% RH above your set point.

Why does my Meaco DD8L Zambezi Dehumidifier have a smell?
    • D
      Destiny SmithSep 15, 2025
If your Meaco Dehumidifier smells, it's likely because the desiccant wheel has absorbed VOCs from the air. To resolve this, run the dehumidifier in a separate space free of VOCs to clean the wheel.

      dawngarciaSep 6, 2025
If the hose is fitted for continuous drainage but the water still goes into the tank, negative air pressure in the room is pulling the water back into the dehumidifier overflow. To resolve this, insert a 4mm hole into the top of the tube 30mm down from the spout to introduce air and balance the air pressure.
