The core function of the MA-40 is air purification, achieved through a three-stage filtration process. The first stage is a pre-filter, which is responsible for capturing larger particles such as hair, fibers, and pet dander. This initial filtration helps to extend the life of the subsequent filters by preventing them from becoming clogged too quickly. The second stage utilizes a True HEPA H13 filter. This high-efficiency filter is tested to remove 99.9% of particles down to 0.1 microns, including pollen, dust mites, and other microscopic airborne particles that are invisible to the naked eye. The final stage is an activated carbon filter, which contains substantial carbon pellets. This filter is specifically designed to absorb and eliminate toxic odors, smoke, and formaldehyde from the air, contributing to a fresher indoor environment.
The MA-40 air purifier is designed for user-friendly operation and maintenance. Before initial use, it is crucial to remove all plastic packaging from the filters. The unit should be placed on a firm, leveled surface in a dry location, ensuring at least 10 inches of space between the back air intake and any walls or furniture to allow for proper air circulation. The air purifier is powered by plugging it into a standard AC outlet. Upon plugging in, the unit will beep, and all indicator lights will flash once before entering standby mode.

This is done by pressing the tabs on the back cover and pulling it slightly, then lifting it off. The old filter can then be removed by pulling on the small tab at the top. Before installing the new filter, all plastic packaging must be removed from it. The new filter should be placed into the air purifier with the white side facing outwards and the tab at the top facing the user. After the new filter is in place, the back cover is reinstalled by aligning the fixed slots and inserting the covers until they snap back into place. After installing a new filter and turning the unit back on, the filter indicator light needs to be reset. This is achieved by holding down both the FAN SPEED button and the IONIZER button simultaneously for 3-5 seconds. This action will turn off the indicator light and reset the filter timer for 3000 hours. It is crucial not to operate the air purifier without a filter installed.
The lifetime warranty for the MA-40 is contingent on several conditions, including timely replacement of filters. Filters should be replaced with genuine Medify Air replacement filters at least once every three to four months or after 2,500 hours of use, whichever comes first.
