IMPORTANT: Outboards with battery charging capabilities must not be
operated with battery cables disconnected from the battery. Damage to the
charging system may result.
5. Turn the ignition key to the START position and start the engine. If the
engine fails to start in ten seconds, wait 30 seconds and try again. If the
engine begins to stall, use the throttle‑only feature and advance the
throttle. Do not exceed 2000 RPM.
6. Verify the warning light turns off.
NOTE: The warning light will remain illuminated for up to five seconds after the
outboard starts. If the light should stay on, refer to
