4. Attach the shift cable to the shift lever with a washer and cotter
pin retainer.

5. Manually shift the outboard into neutral (propeller will rotate
freely).
6. Adjust the cable barrel so the center mark on the cable is
aligned with the end guide when the cable barrel is placed in
the barrel receptacle.
