OIL INJECTION PUMP PURGE
Before starting the engine after changing the in‑line oil filter, the oil injection
pump must be purged. This will remove any air that may be in the pump, oil
supply hose, or internal passages.

IMPORTANT: Fill the engine fuel system with fuel before purging the oil
injection pump.
1. Fill the engine fuel system with fuel. Connect the fuel hose and squeeze
the primer bulb until it feels firm.
2. Turn the ignition key switch to the ON position.
3. Within the first 10 seconds after the key switch has been turned on, move
the remote control handle from neutral into forward gear 3 to 5 times. This
will automatically start the purging process.
NOTE: It may take a few minutes for the pump to complete the purge process.
