6. Cold enginePull out the choke knob for starting. Push in the
choke knob after engine starts to warm up.

IMPORTANT: Outboards with battery charging capabilities must
not be operated with battery cables disconnected from the battery.
Damage to the charging system may result.
7. Manual starting models ‑ Pull the starter rope slowly until you
feel the starter engage, then pull rapidly to crank the engine.
Allow rope to return slowly. Repeat until engine starts. After
the engine has started, push in the choke knob.

8. Electric start tiller handle models Push the starter button and
crank the engine. Release button when the engine starts. Do
not operate the starter motor continuously for longer than ten
seconds at a time. If the engine fails to start, wait 30 seconds
and try again.
