WARNING
Accidental starting can cause serious injury. Before removing or installing the gear housing, disconnect and isolate the spark
plug leads. Disable the ignition system by removing the keys from the ignition (if equipped) and engaging the lanyard stop
switch to prevent the engine from starting.
2. Place the gear shift lever in the neutral position.
3. Tilt the engine to the full up position.
4. Remove the shift linkage access cover.

5. Loosen (do not remove) the linkage bolt.

6. Remove the two bolts. Pull the gear housing from the driveshaft housing.
