8. The water pump base seal should be replaced as a normal repair procedure. Use a punch to remove the seal, being
careful not to damage the pump base seal surface. If the surface is damaged, replace the water pump base.
9. Apply 2‑4‑C with PTFE to the new seal lips. Press the new seal into the pump base with a 16 mm (11/16 in.) socket.
