Why is the drift too high in my Metrohm Measuring Instruments?
- WWilliam CarpenterAug 6, 2025
High drift in Metrohm Measuring Instruments can be caused by moisture in the titration vessel. To resolve this, shake the titration vessel. Other causes include exhausted or contaminated reagent (exchange the reagent), exhausted molecular sieve (check the molecular sieve), a pierced septum (check the septum), faulty seals (check the seals), rough ground joint sleeves (check the ground joint sleeves), a polluted or moist generator electrode diaphragm (check the generator electrode diaphragm), or a sample matrix that consumes iodine (change the reagent more often). Also, ensure the seals are screwed tight and allow the instrument to run overnight.
