How to troubleshoot no LEDs, beep, or laser on Metrologic MS9520 Barcode Reader?
    • J
      Justin GuerreroAug 20, 2025
If your Metrologic Barcode Reader isn't showing any LEDs, beeping, or emitting a laser, it might not be getting power. Check the transformer, outlet, and power strip. Also, ensure the cable is securely plugged into the scanner.

Why Metrologic MS9520 powers up, but does not scan and/or beep?
    • J
      James WoodsAug 27, 2025
If your Metrologic Barcode Reader powers up but doesn't scan or beep, it could be due to scanning a symbology that isn't enabled. By default, UPC/EAN, Code 39, interleaved 2 of 5, Code 93, Code 128, and Codabar are enabled. Verify the barcode type you're trying to read is selected.

What to do if Metrologic Barcode Reader scans a bar code, but locks up after the first scan red LED stays on?
    • M
      Marie KellyAug 28, 2025
If the Metrologic Barcode Reader scans a barcode and then locks up with the red LED staying on, the scanner might be configured for host handshaking but isn't receiving the signal. If ACK/NAK, RTS/CTS, XON/XOFF, or D/E is set up, verify that the host cable and host support the handshaking properly.

What to do if Metrologic MS9520 Barcode Reader powers up, but does not scan and/or beep?
    • C
      Caroline MillerAug 30, 2025
If your Metrologic Barcode Reader powers up but does not scan and/or beep, the scanner may be programmed for a character length lock, or a minimum length, and the barcode being scanned doesn't meet the programmed criteria. Verify that the barcode being scanned meets the criteria; the scanner defaults to a minimum of 3 characters for non-UPC/EAN codes.
