The Midland PRO901 is an advanced in-vehicle UHF Band CB radio designed for robust performance and compact integration into modern vehicles. It features front-mounted controls and an innovative built-in loudspeaker, making it suitable for installations with limited space. The device operates under the ACMA Radio Communications (Citizen Band Radio Stations) Class license in Australia and the Ministry of Economic Development New Zealand.
Function Description:
The PRO901 serves as a two-way radio for citizen band communication. It supports 80 UHF channels for both transmission and reception. Key functions include channel selection, volume adjustment, squelch control, scanning for active channels, and duplex operation for extended range via repeater stations. It also incorporates privacy features through CTCSS (Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System) and DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) codes, allowing users to share channels without interference from other transmissions not carrying the correct tone. The radio includes dedicated emergency channels (5/35) and telecommand channels (22/23), with transmission inhibited on the latter and channels 61, 62, and 63 for future use.
