2.4 Water Diverter
Water is taken into the appliance via the inlet valve and the water diverter,
through the ion exchanger water softener into the sump. The water softener
resin container is at the bottom of the water diverter. The inlet valve is a
double solenoid valve and forms part of the WaterProof System. The water
diverter includes a number of safety features (in accordance with German
water supply laws), valves and sensors. The EGS valve (for the electronically
controlled water softener) and a reactivation valve for the water softener are
also located here, as is the flow meter. See Figure 050-3.
