Safety with children
Chil
dren under 8 years of age must be kept away from the appli‐
ance un
less they are constantly supervised.
Children 8 years and older may only use the dishwasher unsuper‐
vised if they have been shown ho
w to use it safely and recognise
and understand the consequences of incorrect operation.
Children must not be allowed to clean or maintain the appliance
unsuper
vised.
Please super
vise ch
ildren in the vicinity of the dishwasher and do
not let them play with it, or play in or around it. They will not under‐
stand the potential dangers posed by it. There is a danger that chil‐
dren playing might shut themselves in the dishwasher.
Danger of suffocation. Packaging, e.g. plastic wrappings, must be
k
ept out of the reach of babies and children. Whilst playing, children
could become entangled in packaging or pull it over their head and
suffocate.
Keep children away from detergents. Dishwasher detergents con‐
tain irri
tant and corrosive ingredients which can cause burning in the
mouth, nose and throat if swallowed, or inhibit breathing. Keep chil‐
dren away from the dishwasher when the door is open. There could
still be detergent residues in the cabinet. Seek medical attention im‐
mediately if your child has swallowed or inhaled detergent.
