  If the wire does not feed but open-circuit voltage is available on your Miller Electric Welding System, perform the following checks: * Check the power switch S1 and its connections, replacing if necessary. * Check the supplementary protector CB1 and reset it. * Allow the unit to cool if it has overheated. * Check the sensing lead connection. * Check the gun trigger plug connection. * Check the gun trigger (refer to the gun Owner’s Manual). If the issue persists, have a Factory Authorized Service Agent check the Motor Control Board (PC1).

  If the wire feeds erratically, consider these solutions: Readjust the hub tension and drive roll pressure. Clean or replace dirty or worn drive rolls.   If the wire feeds when the Jog switch is pressed but not when the gun trigger is pressed, check the gun trigger connection at the wire feeder. Also, check the gun trigger leads and trigger switch, referring to the gun Owner’s Manual. If the problem continues, have a Factory Authorized Service Agent check the Control board PC1.

  If the motor runs slowly, check and replace the contact tip or liner if necessary. Have a Factory Authorized Service Agent check the Control board PC1. Note that if soft start is not on, the motor will switch to a slower speed if current is not sensed by HD1. When soft start is enabled, the motor will run slow until weld current is sensed by HD1.

  If wire stubbing occurs on the low end when using a constant current power source, ensure the CC/CV switch is in the CC position. If available, increase the power source inductance setting. You can also increase the output setting of the power source or decrease the wire feed speed.

  If the motor runs slowly on your Miller Electric Welding System, when soft start is on, the motor will run slow until weld current is sensed by HD1. Readjust the hub tension. Check if the wire speed dual schedule switch is activated (if applicable). Check and replace the contact tip or liner if necessary (refer to the gun Owner’s Manual). Verify that the DIP switches on the Motor Control Board (PC1) are set correctly. If the issue persists, have a Factory Authorized Service Agent check the Motor Control Board (PC1).
