Have a Factory Authorized Service Agent check integrated rectifier SR2, capacitor C6, and the rotor. * Have a Factory Authorized Service Agent check brushes and slip rings, and field excitation circuit.

  If the engine won't crank, try the following: 1. Reset supplementary protector CB2 if it's open. 2. Check the fuel level. 3. Check and tighten battery connections, and replace the battery if needed. 4. Check if circuit breaker CB10 is open, it resets automatically when the fault is corrected. Have a Factory Authorized Service Agent check engine wiring harness and components. 5. If there is air in the fuel system, see the engine manual. 6. Check engine wiring harness plug connections. 7. Have a Factory Authorized Service Agent check control relay CR5 and Engine Control switch S1.

  Try the following: * Place the Process/Contactor switch in an Electrode Hot position, or in a Remote On/Off Required position and connect the remote contactor to the Remote receptacle. * Reset supplementary protector CB3. * Reset supplementary protector CB9. Check for a faulty remote device connected to the Remote receptacle. * Check and secure connections to the Remote receptacle. * Check fuse F2, and replace if open. Have a Factory Authorized Service Agent check brushes and slip rings, weld excitation circuit, and the rotor.

  This could be due to several reasons: * Check oil level. The automatic shutdown system stops the engine if oil pressure is too low or engine temperature is too high. Note that the automatic shutdown system is inhibited for 30 seconds after start-up. * Have a Factory Authorized Service Agent check control relay CR5. * Keep the battery in good condition and store it in a warm area off a cold surface. * Use fuel formulated for cold weather (diesel fuel can gel in cold weather). Contact a local fuel supplier for fuel information. * Use the correct grade oil for cold weather (see the engine manual).
