MACRO
OPERATION
When
the
subject
is
too
close
to
focus
by
turning
the
lens
to
its
minimum
focusing
distance,
use
the
macro
collar
to
focus.
Slide
the
zooming/focusing
grip
to
the
longest
focal
length
(105mm).
Press
and
hold
the
macro-collar
release,
then
turn
the
macro
collar
in
the
direction
of
the
blue
arrow
on
the
collar.
The
macro-collar
release
will
click
and
lock
the
macro
collar
in
the
macro
range
(1:8
to
1
;4
on
collar).
Use
the
macro
collar
to
focus
on
your
subject;
the
focusing
grip
may
also
be
used
for
fine
adjustments.
Magnification
ratios
are
indicated
in
blue
on
the
macro
collar.
With
the
lens
set
to
its
mini¬
mum
focusing
distance,
the
orange
aperture
index
points
to
the
magnification
ratio
set
on
the
lens.
Maximum
magnification
of
0.25X
(an
image-to-subject
ratio
of
1:4)
is
achieved
with
the
focusing
grip
set
at
its
minimum
focusing
distance.
To
return
the
lens
to
normal
focusing
and
zooming,
press
and
hold
the
macro-collar
release,
then
turn
the
macro
collar
in
the
direction
opposite
the
arrow.
The
macro-collar
release
will
click
and
lock
the
collar.
NOTE
The
macro
function
operates
only
at
the
longest
focal
length.
Never
force
the
macro¬
collar
release
or
macro
collar
when
the
zooming/focusing
grip
is
not
at
the
longest
focal
length.
Never
attempt
to
pull
the
zooming/focusing
grip
when
the
lens
is
set
in
the
macro
range.
The
grip
is
locked
at
the
longest
focal
length
when
the
macro
function
is
engaged.
The
macro
function
of
this
lens
is
designed
to
be
used
for
taking
pictures
of
subjects
such
as
plants
and
flowers
at
closer
than
the
usual
minimum
focusing
distance.
It
is
not
suitable
for
copying
objects,
such
as
stamps,
which
require
great
accuracy,
or
for
taking
macro
photographs
at
great
magnifications.
In
these
cases,
it
is
recommended
to
use
one
