1.2.3 How to read the SERIAL number
Rating plate example
The SERIAL consists of one symbol, two characters indicating the production year and month, and six
characters indicating the control number. The last digit of the production year is indicated as the Year,
and the Month is indicated by 1 to 9, X (October), Y (November), or Z (December).
NOTES The rating plate shows the rated inverter current in SLD operation (Super Light Duty). The over-
load current rating at SLD is 110 % of the rated current for 60 s and 120 % for 3 s at surrounding air
temperature of max. 40 °C.
The inverter model name used in this Instruction Manual consists of the inverter model, e. g.
FR-A840-00023-2-60 and the applicable motor capacity in brackets specified in [kW]. This
approach helps for better understanding and for choosing the right motor. For further specifica-
tion details like capacity, current or overload current rating refer to chapter 8.
For selecting the right frequency inverter you should know details of your application and espe-
cially the load characteristic.
