Fresh Water System
Sanitizing the Fresh Water Tank
The fresh water system should be sanitized if it
has not been used for a long period or you are
unsure of the quality of the water in the system.
The following steps can be used to sanitize the
system:
• Activate the system, open all hot and cold
faucets and pump out as much water as you
can.
• Make a chlorine solution by mixing two ounces
of household chlorine bleach in a gallon of
water. This mixture will treat approximately

and never add straight chlorine to the fresh
water tank.
• Fill the water tank half full with fresh water,
then pour the mixture into the water tank and
top off the tank.
• Activate the system and allow the water to run
for about one minute at each faucet. Let the
treated water stand for 4-6 hours.

NOTICE:
The quality of the water in marine fresh
water systems can be questionable. We
recommend that you avoid using the water
from the fresh water system for drinking and
cooking. You should only use bottled water
for these purposes.
