8.1 General
MSX Premier Package models are equipped with a
ballast system that enables the operator to adjust
the size of the wake by increasing or decreasing
the weight of the boat. This is accomplished by
lling or pumping out a seawater tank located in
the bilge near the bow.
The ballast water pump is supplied by hoses con-
nected to ball valves and thru-hull ttings located
in the bilge below a hatch in the cockpit ski stor-
age compartment. It is a self-priming, exible
impeller pump with an onboard circuit breaker.
The breaker will trip if the pump overheats and
automatically reset when the pump cools.
A sea strainer near the pumps protects the system
from debris. Always make sure the ball valves
are open before attempting to operate the bal-
last system.
