Repair
as
required.
If breaker
does
not
tn’p,
replace
regulator.
Reconnect
lead
to
regulator.
Master
switch
to
ON
and
check for
12V
at
pin
A
or
1
of
regulator.
Repair
win’ng
if
no
voltage
is
present.

thru
25-0999;
Set
alternator
field

MASTER
switch
to
ON
8
check
for 24
volts
at
Pin
5
of
regulator
(25-1000
thru
25-~230)
ALT
circuit
breakertrips.
Short
circuit
in
win’ng.
Disconnect
lead
from
post
of
aRemator,
and
reset
ALT
circuit
breaker.
If
circuit
breaker
tn’ps,
check
wiring
between
alternator
and
circuit
breaker.
Short
circuit
in
aRemator.
Reconnect
lead
to
post
of
altemator.
WARNING
ENSURE
THAT
MAGNETO
SWITCH
IS
OFF WHEN
TURNING
PROPELLER.
Rotate
propeller
by
hand
to
rotate
altemator
through
360
degrees
of
travel. If
circuit
breaker
tn’ps replace
aitemator,
Altematorwill
not
keep
Battery
malfunction.
i. Start
engine
and
adjust
for 1500
battery
charged.
RPM.
Ammeter
should
indicate a
heavy
charge
rate
with
all
electrical
equipment
tumed
off. Rate
should
taper
off
in
1
3
minutes.
A
voltage
check
at
the
bus
should
indicate
a
reading
of
13.75
to
14.0
volts.
m
If
charge
rate
tapers
off
very
quickly
and
voltage
is
normal,
check
battery
for
malfunction.
If ammeter
shows
a
low
charge
rate
or
any
discharge
rate,
and
voltage
is
low,
25-0001
thru
25-0999;
28.6
to
28.8
volts
for
25-1000
thru
25-1230.
proceed
to
step
3.
Defective
wiring.

Check
voltage
at
A
or

terminal
of
regulator
with
master
svvitch
ON.

Meter

indicate
bus
voltage.
If
voltage
is
not
present,
check
win’ng
between
regulator
and
bus.

from
regulator
and
start
engine.

ammeter
should
show
heavy
rate
of
charge.
