4. Turn the 3-way stopcock handle towards the side port and allow a few ml of oil to enter the
syringe. Turn the 3-way stopcock handle towards the oil sampling tube and eject ALL air
bubbles and most of the oil through the stopcock side port. Do not leave more than 1 or 2
ml of oil in the syringe.
5. Move the stopcock handle toward the side port and allow the system pressure to force the
syringe piston back to the desired volume, then close the syringe stopcock (handle towards
the syringe), then detach the syringe and sampling tube. The oil sample is ready for analysis.
6. Remove the Quick Connect Oil Sampling Tube from the oil SAMPLING port by pushing
the locking ring up and pulling the fitting (with yellow hose) down.
7. If you do not need another oil sample, open the OUTLET valve slowly, turning it
counterclockwise ¼ turn (the handle will then be pointing down). Otherwise, restart the
procedure at point 2.
NOTICE
Flushing approximately 30cc of oil to waste is necessary before sampling to discard
stagnant oil in the sampling valve assembly.
NOTICE
In some environments, a protective plug may be required to prevent dust or sand from
affecting the SAMPLING port mechanism. This part is not included in the standard
Calisto/Calisto 2 Accessory Kit and must be ordered separately.
