  If the Ethernet LEDs on your Motorola Gateway are not lit, ensure you're using the correct Ethernet cable (thicker than a standard telephone cable) and that it's securely plugged into both the Ethernet jack on your PC and the Ethernet port on the Gateway. If possible, test with another Ethernet cable. Also, verify that Ethernet drivers are installed on your PC, the TCP/IP Properties are set to obtain an IP address via DHCP, the PC has obtained an address in the 192.168.1.x range, and the PC is configured to access the Internet over a LAN. Disable any unused network devices.

  If the DSL LED on your Motorola Gateway isn't lit, make sure every telephone connected to the line has a microfilter installed. Verify you're using the correct DSL cable (thinner than a standard telephone cable) and that it's plugged into the correct wall jack and the DSL port on the Gateway. Also, ensure the DSL line has been activated and that the Gateway is not plugged into a microfilter.
