• Ensure the PTT button is completely
pressed when transmitting.

Confirm that the radios have the same
Channel, Frequency, Interference
Eliminator Code, and Scramble Code

• Recharge, replace, or reposition batter-
ies. See Battery Specifications on page
23.
• Change the radio placement. Obstruc-
tions and operating indoors, or in vehi-
cles, may interfere.
• Verify that the radio is not in Scan mode.

Heavy static or interference Radios are too close. Ensure the transmit-
ting and receiving radios are at least five
feet apart.
Radios are too far apart or obstacles are in-
terfering with transmission.
Low batteries Recharge or replace Li-Ion battery.
NOTICE: Extreme operating tem-
peratures affect battery life.

Drop-in Charger LED light does not blink Perform one of the following actions:
• Verify that the radio and battery is prop-
erly inserted.
•
Check the battery and charger contacts
to ensure that they are clean and charg-
ing pin is inserted correctly.

Battery does not charge although it has
been placed in the drop-in charger for a
while
Perform one of the following actions:
• Verify the drop-in tray charger is properly
connected and corresponds to a compat-
ible power supply. See Charging a
Stand-Alone Battery with the Drop-in
Tray SUC on page 25.
