set entry modes
Multiple text entry modes make it easy for you to
enter names, numbers, and messages. Press
# in
any text entry screen to select one of the following
entry methods.
To set up Primary or Secondary entry mode:

Press s > Entry Setup in any text entry view.
2 Selectl to Primary Setup or Secondary Setup .
You can select one of these text entry methods::
iTAP™ method
In any text entry screen, press # to switch entry
modes until the
j (primary entry mode) or p
(secondary mode) appears. The
iTAP software
combines your key presses into common words, and
predicts each word as you enter it. To use iTAP mode,
it must be assigned as primary or secondary text entry
mode (see page 30).
For example, if you press
2775 , your phone
displays a list of word combinations such as
Appl , Aspj ,
and
Aspk .

Numeric Enter numbers only (see page 30).
Symbol Enter symbols only (see page 30).
Secondary The secondary text entry method
(see below to set).
