PROBLEM
POSSIBLE CAUSE

Engine does not
start.
Engine brake cable
loose.
Check the cable tension against the lever and ad-
just the wire tension if necessary.
Gas-air mixture too lean.
Press the primer pump (21) several times before re-
starting.
Wire rope hoist blocked
or torn off.
Damage occurs due to excessive mechanical influ-
ences. Order and replace spare parts.
Air filter element dirty.
Clean air filter element.
Spark plug loose.
Tighten the spark plug.
Ignition cable loose or
not connected with
spark plug.
Attach the ignition cable to the spark plug.
Electrode spacing incor-
rect.
Adjust the distance between electrodes.
Spark plug defective.
Install new spark plug with correct electrode spac-
ing.
Carburetor flooded.
Remove the air filter element and continuously pull
on the starter rope until the carburettor has
cleaned itself; then install the air filter element.
Ignition module defec-
tive.
Contact customer service.
Engine starts only
with difficulty or
switches off.
Dirt or water in the fuel
tank
Empty and clean the fuel tank, then fill it with
clean, fresh gasoline.
Ventilation opening in
the fueltank lid clogged.
Clean or replace the fuel cap.
Air filter element dirty.
Clean or replace the air filter element.
Carburetor clogged.
Gasoline is dirty or of
the wrong kind.
Remove the spark plug. Empty the fuel tank. Clean
the spark plug and carburettor.
Engine runs une-
venly.
Spark plug defective.
Install a new spark plug with proper electrode spac-
ing.
Spark plug spacing not
correct.
Set the electrode spacing correctly.
Air filter element dirty.
Clean air filter element.
Motor stops at high
speed.
Distance between elec-
trodes of the spark plug
too small.
Set electrode spacing.
Engine overheated.
Ventilation slots
blocked.
Remove dirt from the vents in the engine housing.
Wrong spark plug.
Install an original spark plug.
Lawn mower vi-
brates abnormally.
Knife loose.
Tighten the knife.
Knife with imbalance.
Replace the knife.
