What causes an mspa Ottoman Hot Tub to be in an abnormal shape?
    • A
      Amber MartinezSep 9, 2025
If your MSpa Hot Tub tub is in an abnormal shape, it could be due to extra air pressure caused by strong sunlight. Check the air pressure and release air if necessary. During hot weather, it is advisable to check whether some air should be released to avoid any possible damage to the spa pool.

    • L
      Laura WalkerSep 8, 2025
If your MSpa Hot Tub is losing air, the air valve might be loose. Inflate the spa until the Yellow section of the manometer is pushed out and ensure the valve is screwed tightly, replacing it if necessary. Also, inspect the spa tub for holes or splits. To find a leak, fill a squirt bottle with soapy water and spray it on the seams; small bubbles will appear where there's a leak. Clean and dry the leaking area before applying the repair patch supplied with your spa.

Why is my mspa Ottoman Hot Tub not heating properly?
    • K
      Kristin CraigAug 22, 2025
If your MSpa Hot Tub isn't heating properly, there might be several reasons. First, check if the temperature is set too low and increase it. Another common cause is a dirty filter cartridge, which should be cleaned or replaced. Ensure the water level reaches at least the minimum line. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the heater may have failed, requiring professional assistance. Also, make sure that the filter pump is working. Finally, try to reset the heater if the temperature protection switch tripped off.

The MSpa hot tub is designed for household use, offering a heated water environment with a bubble massage system. It serves as a portable spa that can be installed indoors or outdoors. The primary functions include water heating, filtration, and bubble massage. The control system allows users to adjust temperature, activate filtration, and control the bubble function. A heating timer feature enables pre-setting the heater activation. The spa is equipped with an anti-icing system to prevent water from freezing in cold temperatures.

Important Technical Specifications

The spa control unit includes a PRCD (portable residual current device) with a tripping current of 10mA for electrical safety. The water temperature can be set between 20°C and 40°C (68°F to 104°F).

Usage Features

  • Easy Setup: The spa can be installed in approximately 10 minutes by one or more persons. It requires a flat, smooth, and supporting surface.
  • Inflation: The spa tub wall is inflated using the bubble button on the controller. A manometer helps ensure correct air pressure, with Yellow indicating pre-fill/unattended outdoor use (above 20°C), Green for filled/in-use, and White indicating over-pressure.
  • Heater Resetting: A heater reset procedure is required for first-time use or after long storage, involving pulling down a yellow ring inside the control box.
  • Water Filling: Fill with fresh water between MIN and MAX marks. Lukewarm water is recommended for faster heating and energy saving.
  • Controller Operation: A wired controller with an LED display provides access to:
    • Heater Button: Activates/deactivates heating. Red light indicates active heating, green light indicates set temperature reached.
    • Filter Button: Turns filtration on/off. Green light indicates active filtration. Flashing red light or display indicates filter cartridge cleaning/replacement is needed.
    • Bubble Button: Activates/deactivates bubble massage. Green light indicates active. Automatically shuts off after 20 minutes for safety.
    • Up/Down Buttons: Adjust temperature settings and timer hours.
    • Timer Button: Sets the number of hours until the heater activates (1-99 hours).
    • Safety Lock: Locks/unlocks the controller by pressing Up and Down buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
  • Floating Dispenser: A standard chemical dispenser for 1" tablets is included. It allows for dosage adjustment by rotating the bottom cover.
  • Seasonal Use: Guidelines are provided for summer/sunny days (preventing over-expansion, protecting from sunburn) and winter (softening PVC, faster heating with lukewarm water, anti-icing system, storage procedures).

Maintenance Features

  • Filter Cartridge Maintenance: The filter cartridge should be inspected and cleaned gently after each use, and changed every 3-5 days or when soiled. It must always be installed when the spa is in use and filled with water.
  • Water Sanitation: Regular checking and sanitizing of spa water with chemicals is crucial. The manual provides a table for correct water balance parameters (pH, Free Chlorine, Bromine residual, Total Alkalinity, Total Hardness) and recommended test frequencies.
  • Spa Drainage: Instructions for draining the spa involve turning off all functions, then lifting the spa when only a little water remains. The bubble function can be used to dry the spa pool.
  • Spa Tub Cleaning: After draining, the spa tub should be cleaned with a sponge and mild soap solution. Abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or hard brushes should not be used.
  • Storage: After cleaning and drying, the spa tub and air bladder should be deflated, folded loosely, and stored in a dry, temperature-controlled area (0°C to 40°C / 32°F to 104°F). The original packaging is recommended for storage.
  • Repair: A repair patch is provided for punctures, with instructions for cleaning, applying glue (not included), and attaching the patch.
  • Troubleshooting: An error code chart (LED Reading, Cause, Solution) and a problem/cause/solution table are included to assist users in diagnosing and resolving common issues like no display, spa leaking, improper heating, air loss, dirty water, abnormal shape, and non-functional bubble blower or filter pump.
  • Warranty: MSpa offers a limited warranty: 12 months for electric parts (control box) and 6 months for the spa pool, starting from the purchase date. The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship, but excludes damage from negligence, misuse, improper maintenance, chemical damage, or unauthorized modifications.
