Operation
Safe Handling Of Gasoline:
1. Toavoidpersonalinjuryor propertydamageuse
extremecare in handlinggasoline,Gasolineisextremely
flammableand thevaporsare explosive,Seriouspersonal
injurycanoccur whengasolineisspilledon yourselfor
yourclotheswhichcan ignite,
2. Washyourskin andchangeclothesimmediately,
3. Useonly anapprovedgasoline container,
4. Neverfill containersinsidea vehicleoron a truck ortrailer
bedwith a plasticliner,Alwaysplacecontainersonthe
groundawayfromyourvehiclebeforefilling.
5. Removegas-poweredequipmentfromthetruck or
trailerandrefuelit onthe ground.Ifthis is notpossible,
then refuelsuchequipmenton a trailerwitha portable
container,ratherthan froma gasolinedispensernozzle.
6. Keepthe nozzleincontactwith the rimof thefuel tankor
containeropeningat alltimesuntilfueling is complete.Do
notusea nozzlelock-opendevice.
7. Extinguishallcigarettes,cigars, pipesandothersources
ofignition.
8. Neverfuel machineindoorsbecauseflammablevapors
willaccumulateinthe area.
9. Neverremovegas caporaddfuel whileengineishotor
running. Allowengineto coolat leasttwo minutesbefore
refueling.
10.Neverover fill fueltank. Filltankto nomorethan Y2inch
belowbottomof filler neckto providefor fuelexpansion.
11.Replacegasolinecap andtightensecurely.
12.Ifgasolineisspilled,wipeitofftheengineandequipment.Move
unitto anotherarea.Wait5minutesbeforestartingengine.
13.Neverstorethe machineor fuelcontainernearanopen
flame,spark orpilot light as ona water heater,space heater,
furnace,clothesdryeror othergasappliances.
14.Toreducefire hazard,keeplawnedgerfreeof grass,
leaves,or otherdebrisbuild-up.Cleanupoilor fuelspillage
and removeanyfuelsoakeddebris.
15.Allowa lawnedgerto coolatleast5 minutesbeforestoring.

plaything.Therefore,exerciseextremecaution at alltimes.

5. Thoroughlyinspectthe areawherethe equipmentis to be
used. Removeallstones, sticks,wire,bones,toysand other
foreignobjectswhichcouldbetripped overor pickedup
andthrownbythe blade.Thrownobjectscan causeserious
personalinjury.
6. Alwayswearsafetyglassesor safetygogglesduringopera-
tionandwhile performinganadjustmentor repairtoprotect
youreyes.Thrownobjectswhich ricochetcancauseserious
injurytothe eyes.
7. Wearsturdy,rough-soledworkshoesand close-fitting
slacksandshirts. Shirtsand pantsthatcoverthe armsand
legsandsteel-toedshoesarerecommended.Neveroperate
this machinein barefeet,sandals,slipperyor lightweight
(e.g.canvas)shoes.
8. Neverattemptto makeanyadjustmentswhiletheengine
is running,exceptwherespecificallyrecommendedinthe
operator'smanual.
