1. Workinginfrontoftheedger,loosenthe flangelock
nutontop of frame,allowingthe idlerpulleyassembly
topivotslightlyoutfromthe frame.
2. Withyourotherhand,carefullyreachunderthe
rearof the unitand removethe belt fromaroundthe
engineflywheelpulley,Figure5-4.
3. Removethe beltguardby removingthetwo self-
tappingscrewswhichsecureit to the bladeplate
assembly,Figure5-5.
4. Usetwowrenches(onewrenchtopreventthehex
boltheadfromspinningandthe otherto unthreadthe
flangenut) to removethe flangenut thatsecuresthe
edgerblade,leavingtheedgerbladeinplace,Figure
5-6.

5. InstalltheTri-staredger blade andthe flat washer,

IMPORTANT:Usea torque wrenchto tighten the
flange nut to between 37foot-lbs, and 50 foot-lbs.
7. Reinstallthespindlebeltguardwiththe selftapping
screwsremovedearlier.
8. Carefullyplacethe drivebelt backonto theengine
flywheelpulley,and retightentheflangelocknuton
thetopoftheframe.
