Muffler removal/replacement (snow engines)
To remove/replace the muffler:
1. Remove the control panel by following the proce-
dures described in Chapter 3: Air Intake System.
2. Remove the muffler heat shield by:
2a. Remove the two rear heat shield screws using
a 10 mm wrench.
See Figure 8.7.
3. Remove the screw that holds the heat shield to the
cylinder head using a 10 mm wrench.
See Figure 8.8.
4. Work the heat shield off of the engine.
5. Remove the three screws that secure the exhaust
pipe shield using a 10 mm wrench.
