7.5.3 Valve clearance – Check and adjustment
Preconditions
☑Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
☑Coolant temperature max. 40 °C.
☑Valves are closed.

Preparatory steps
1. Remove cylinder head cover (→ Page 115).
2. Install barring device (→ Page 99).
Note: The OT mark (1) (if fitted) on the flywheel
must not be used for reference.
3. Rotate crankshaft with barring device in en-
gine direction of rotation until "OT-A1"
mark and pointer are aligned.
