Overview

Function Description:

The primary function of the AMP-19N is to measure and display the true RMS current for three phases (R, Y, B). A key feature is its CT Ratio Selection capability, which allows users to configure the meter for various primary CT ratios, ranging from 5 to 6000/5 Amp AC CAT III. This ensures accurate readings even with different current transformers. The device indicates Kilo Ampere readings, providing a convenient way to monitor high currents.

Usage Features:

  • CT Ratio Selection: To configure the CT Ratio, users need to press and hold the scroll key for 5 seconds. The display will then show "匚Łґ" (CT Ratio) on the R phase display, while the Y and B phase displays will show the primary CT Ratio. The Y display shows the most significant digit, and the B display shows the last three digits. The scroll key is used to change the CT Ratio. The B display will show the CT Ratio up to 900. For ratios from 1000 to 6000 amps, both Y and B displays will show the primary CT Ratio. If no key is pressed for 5 seconds, the CT Ratio is automatically saved, and the device exits the configuration mode. The CT Ratio increments are stepped: by 5 AMP from 5 to 100, by 25 AMP from 100 to 1000, by 50 AMP from 1000 to 2000, and by 500 AMP from 2000 to 6000.
  • Installation: The device is a built-in type, intended to be part of a main control panel. Proper panel cutout dimensions (92x92mm) are required. The unit is fitted into the panel using a provided clamp. It should not be installed near heating sources, caustic vapors, oils, steam, or other unwanted by-products. Wiring should be done using crimp terminals (M3.5 screws), with a tightening torque of 1.2 N.m on the terminal block screws. Unused terminals should not be connected.
  • Safety Precautions: All safety codifications, symbols, and instructions in the manual must be strictly followed. Improper handling may impair the device's protection. It is crucial to read complete instructions before installation and operation. A warning for "Risk of electric shock" is prominently displayed.
  • Warning Guidelines: Power supply to the equipment must be OFF during wiring. Terminals should not be touched when power is supplied. To minimize electromagnetic interference, use adequately rated and twisted wires of equal size with the shortest possible connection. Connection cables to the power source must have a cross-section of at least 1mm² and insulation capacity of at least 1.5kV. For thermocouple lead wires, compensation wires should be used, with small lead resistance (max 50 per line) and no resistance differentials among the three wires. Using standard power supply cable for the instrument can improve anti-noise effects.
  • Installation Guidelines: As a built-in device, terminals may not be accessible to the end user after installation. Metal pieces, wire clippings, or metallic fillings must not enter the product to prevent safety hazards. A circuit breaker or mains switch must be installed between the power source and supply terminal for power ON/OFF, placed conveniently and accessibly to the operator. The instrument must be used and stored within the specified ambient temperature and humidity ranges.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning: The equipment should be cleaned regularly to prevent blockage of ventilating parts.
  • Cleaning Agent: Use a clean soft cloth for cleaning. Avoid using isopropyl alcohol or any other cleaning agent.
  • Fuse Replacement: The fusible resistor must not be replaced by the operator.
