How to fix a Napoleon Prestige 450 when the burner won't light with the igniter?
- AAndrew PowellAug 21, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill burner won't light with the igniter but lights with a match, possible causes include a dead or incorrectly installed battery, a loose electrode wire, the wrong replacement igniter, an improper gap at the electrode tip, or lifting flames on the burner. Replace the battery with a heavy-duty 'AAA' battery, installed with the positive terminal up. Check that the electrode wire is firmly pushed onto the terminal on the back of the igniter. Ensure that one spark systems use a one spark igniter. Ensure the gap between the electrode end and the collector box is between 1/8 - 3/16", adjusting by bending the box. Closing the air shutter slightly might also help.
