Why won't the burners cross light on my Napoleon Prestige Pro?
    • M
      Mark BlakeAug 15, 2025
There are several reasons why the burners on your Napoleon Grill might not cross light. It could be due to a dead or incorrectly installed battery. Try replacing it with a premium heavy-duty battery. Another cause could be loose electrode or switch terminal wires. Ensure the electrode wire is firmly pushed onto the terminal on the back of the igniter and that the lead wires from the module to the ignition switch (if equipped) are firmly attached to their terminals. Also, lifting flames on the burner may be the reason. In this case close air shutter according to 'Maintenance Instructions'- Combustion Air Adjustment section in this Owner’s Manual. IMPORTANT! This must be done by a qualified gas installer.

How to prevent excessive flare-ups and uneven heat on my Napoleon Prestige Pro?
    • E
      Eric McbrideAug 18, 2025
To prevent excessive flare-ups and uneven heat on your Napoleon Grill, ensure the sear plates are installed correctly with the holes towards the front and the slots on the bottom. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes. Clean the sear plates and drip pan regularly, and do not line the pan with aluminum foil.

What to do if my Napoleon Prestige Pro burners light with a match but not igniter?
    • C
      Cody ClarkAug 22, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill burners light with a match but not the igniter, it could be due to a dirty or clogged JETFIRETM outlet. Try cleaning the JETFIRETM outlet with a soft bristle brush. Another possible cause is dirty or corroded cross light brackets, so clean or replace them as needed.

Why is the burner output on my Napoleon Prestige Pro too low on the 'high' setting?
    • M
      Michael AllenAug 26, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill's burner output is too low on the 'high' setting, it could be due to several reasons: a lack of gas in the propane cylinder, a pinched supply hose, a dirty or clogged orifice, spider webs or other matter in the venturi tube, or the propane regulator being in a 'low flow' state. To resolve this, check the gas level, reposition the supply hose, clean the burner orifice and venturi tube. Also, ensure that the lighting procedure is followed carefully: all gas grill valves must be in the off position when the tank valve is turned on, and the tank should be turned on slowly to allow pressure to equalize.

Why won't the rear and side burners on my Napoleon Prestige Pro Grill light with the igniter, but they light with a match?
    • B
      Benjamin CurtisSep 1, 2025
If the rear and side burners on your Napoleon Grill won't light with the igniter but do light with a match, it could be due to a dead or incorrectly installed battery. Try replacing it with a premium heavy-duty battery. Also, check that the electrode wire is firmly pushed onto the terminal on the back of the igniter and that the lead wires from the module to the ignition switch (if equipped) are firmly pushed onto their respective terminals. Closing the air shutter slightly might also help.

What causes the infrared burner on my Napoleon Prestige Pro to flash back?
    • A
      Andre EllisSep 4, 2025
The infrared burner on your Napoleon Grill might flash back if the ceramic tiles are overloaded with grease drippings and build-up, the ports are clogged, the burner overheated due to inadequate ventilation, there is a cracked ceramic tile, or there is a leaking gasket surrounding the ceramic tile, or a weld failure in the burner housing. Turn the burner off and allow it to cool for at least two minutes. Relight the burner and burn on high for at least five minutes or until the ceramic tiles are evenly glowing red. Ensure that no more than 75% of the grill surface is covered by objects or accessories. Allow the burner to cool and inspect very closely for cracks. If any cracks are found, contact your authorized Napoleon dealer to order a replacement burner assembly.

    • J
      Jerry DanielSep 7, 2025
If the burners on your Napoleon Grill burn with a yellow flame and you smell gas, it could be due to a spider web or other debris, or improper air shutter adjustment.
