Why is there low heat/low flame on my Napoleon PRESTIGE 665 Grill when the valve is on high?
    • J
      Jennifer BergAug 18, 2025
The low heat or flame could be due to several reasons. If you're using propane, you might not be following the correct lighting procedure. For natural gas, the supply line might be too small. In both cases, the grill might not be preheating properly. Ensure you follow the lighting procedure carefully, with all gas grill valves in the off position when you turn on the tank valve. Turn the tank on slowly to allow the pressure to equalize. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes. The pipe must be sized according to the installation code.

Why does my Napoleon PRESTIGE 665 Grill have excessive flare-ups and uneven heat?
    • N
      Nicole JacobsAug 20, 2025
Excessive flare-ups and uneven heat can occur for a few reasons. The sear plates might be installed incorrectly, or the grill isn't preheating properly. Also, excessive grease and ash buildup on the sear plates and in the drip pan can cause this issue. Make sure sear plates are installed correctly. Preheat the grill with the main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes. Clean the sear plates and drip pan regularly. Do not line the pan with aluminum foil.

What to do if my Napoleon Grill infrared burner flashes back?
    • D
      Denise NavarroAug 30, 2025
If the infrared burner flashes back, it could be due to ceramic tiles overloaded with grease, clogged ports, overheating due to inadequate ventilation, cracked ceramic tile, or a leaking gasket. Turn the burner off and let it cool for at least two minutes. Relight it and burn on high for at least five minutes, or until the ceramic tiles are evenly glowing red. Make sure that no more than 75% of the grill surface is covered. Turn the burner off and let it cool for at least two minutes, then relight. Allow the burner to cool and inspect closely for cracks.

What to do if the burner output on my Napoleon Grill 'high' setting is too low?
    • M
      melissa14Sep 2, 2025
If the burner output on the 'high' setting is too low, with rumbling noise, it could be due to a lack of gas, a pinched supply hose, a dirty or clogged orifice, or spider webs in the venturi tube. Check the gas level in the propane cylinder. Reposition the supply hose if necessary. Clean the burner orifice and clean out the venturi tube.

What to do if the rear and side burners on my Napoleon PRESTIGE 665 won't light with the igniter?
    • D
      dbensonSep 4, 2025
If the rear and side burners won't light with the igniter but will light with a match, the battery might be dead or installed incorrectly, or the electrode wire or switch terminal wires might be loose. Replace the battery with a heavy-duty premium battery. Check that the electrode wire is firmly pushed onto the terminal on the back of the igniter. Check that the lead wires from the module to the ignition switch are firmly pushed onto their respective terminals.

What to do if the pilot on my Napoleon Grill won't light?
    • D
      Dale LeeSep 7, 2025
If the pilot won't light, there could be a lack of gas, an obstruction in the pilot orifice, a loose electrode wire, a dirty pilot electrode, or the pilot might actually be lit. After turning the pilot knob to high, wait about 20-30 seconds for air to purge the gas line while pressing the igniter. Fill the propane cylinder. During initial setup or after refilling the tank, light one of the tube burners before lighting the pilot burner to help gas reach the valves more quickly. Clean the pilot orifice, replace the lead wire, and clean the pilot electrode.
