What to do if burners burn with yellow flame and gas smell on Napoleon PRO285X?
    • B
      brownzacharyAug 20, 2025
If the burners are burning with a yellow flame and there's a smell of gas, it could be due to a spider web or other debris. Thoroughly clean the burner by removing it. It may also be caused by an improper air shutter adjustment; in this case, open the air shutter slightly according to combustion air adjustment instructions.

Why is the Napoleon Grill not getting hot enough?
    • S
      Sheila WilliamsAug 22, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill isn't reaching high temperatures or the flame is weak even when the valve is set to high, there might be a blockage in the gas line. Inspect the burner and orifice for spider webs. Also, preheating the grill with the main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes can help. Finally, ensure you have a fresh 1 lb cylinder or a full 20 lb tank connected.

The low heat or flame could be due to a blockage of gas, such as spider webs in the burner or orifice. It may also be caused by improper preheating. Ensure you preheat the grill with the main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes. Finally, make sure that you have a fresh 1 lb cylinder or are properly connected to a 20 lb tank.

    • S
      Shaun SimpsonAug 28, 2025
Excessive flare-ups and uneven heat can occur if the grill isn't preheated properly. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes. Also, excessive grease and ash build-up in the drip pan can cause this issue, so clean the drip pan regularly. Do not line the pan with aluminum foil.

Why is the burner output on my Napoleon PRO285X too low on the “high” setting?
    • P
      Paul SanchezAug 29, 2025
A low burner output on the high setting, accompanied by rumbling noise, can be due to several factors. First, check the gas level in your propane cylinder. Also, inspect the supply hose to ensure it is not pinched and reposition it if necessary. A dirty or clogged orifice, or spider webs in the venturi tube, can also cause this. Clean the burner orifice and venturi tube.

Why does the inside of my Napoleon Grill lid appear to be peeling?
    • R
      Roberto FitzgeraldSep 4, 2025

Why is my Napoleon Grill regulator humming?
    • C
      Chad WatsonSep 6, 2025
A humming regulator is a normal occurrence on hot days. This is not a defect. It is caused by internal vibrations in the regulator and does not affect the performance or safety of the gas grill. Humming regulators will not be replaced.
