Questions and Answers

    Ashley LyonsSep 8, 2025
Why is the Napoleon Grill burner output low on the 'high' setting?
    • M
      Melissa BrownSep 8, 2025
A low burner output on the 'high' setting with rumbling noise and fluttering blue flame may be due to several reasons. Check the gas level in the propane cylinder, ensure the supply hose is not pinched, and clean the burner orifice and venturi tube if they are dirty or clogged, or if there are spider webs or other material inside.

Why does my Napoleon Grill have excessive flare-ups and uneven heat?
    • Y
      yjonesSep 10, 2025
Excessive flare-ups and uneven heat in your Napoleon Grill can be caused by improper preheating or excessive grease and ash buildup in the drip pan. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes and clean the drip pan regularly. Do not line the pan with aluminum foil.

Why does my Napoleon Grill have low heat when the valve is on high?
    • J
      John MoralesSep 12, 2025
Low heat or low flame on your Napoleon Grill when the valve is turned to high may be due to a blockage of gas, improper preheating, or the cylinder freezing up. Check for spider webs in the burner or orifice. Preheat the grill with main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes. If cooking for a long time, or when the cylinder is close to empty, or in low outside temperatures, replace the 1 lb cylinder with a fresh one or hook up to a 20 lb tank.
  • S

Why does the Napoleon PRO285X lid look like the 'paint' is peeling inside?
    • S
      samantha36Sep 13, 2025
The peeling appearance inside the lid of your Napoleon Grill is not a defect but is caused by hardened grease that dries into paint-like shards. Regular cleaning will prevent this.

What to do if Napoleon Grill burners burn with a yellow flame and smell of gas?
    • J
      jblackSep 16, 2025
If the burners on your Napoleon Grill burn with a yellow flame and there is a smell of gas, it could be due to a spider web, other debris, or an improperly adjusted air shutter. Thoroughly clean the burner and slightly open the air shutter according to the combustion air adjustment instructions. (This must be done by a qualified gas installer.)

    • B
      brownbethanySep 18, 2025
If flames lift away from the burner of your Napoleon Grill, accompanied by the smell of gas, and possibly difficulties in lighting, it may be due to an improperly adjusted air shutter.
